Directions to Bear Canyon Lake

Use this route as your travel reference, then follow the final OEF GPS pin and markers to the campsite.

The final pin controls the last leg

ADVON will secure the best available site in the Bear Canyon area, send the exact GPS pin, and post OEF markers at key turns where permitted. The final site is first-come, first-served and may move within the area.

From Payson, travel northeast on AZ-260.

Turn left onto Rim Road and continue north.

At the Rim Road and Wallace Road junction, turn left to remain on Rim Road. Follow posted signs toward Bear Canyon Lake.

Continue to Forest Service Road 89, marked for Bear Canyon Lake, and take the dirt road toward the campground.

At the fork, veer right and continue toward the day-use area. Follow the final OEF pin and posted OEF signs to camp.

  • Forest Service Road 89 is a dirt road leading to the campground.
  • ADVON will confirm forest-road access and conditions before the main body departs.
  • Use the final OEF pin and signs rather than relying only on a generic campground destination.
